On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 2 p.m. Eastern/11 a.m. Pacific, Dr. Youngsoo Lee, associate professor of food engineering, Washington State University, will present “Application of 3-Fluid Nozzle and Ultrasounds Atomizer for Spray Drying” as part of Powder & Bulk Solids' DryPro webinar series.
There are various atomization methods available for spray drying. Three-fluid nozzle and ultrasound nozzle using mesh transducers have great potential to be used as alternative atomization methods. A three-fluid nozzle was adapted as an in-line mixing tool for two miscible liquids and mesh ultrasound atomizers were explored for enhanced dry powder particle size control. The results from these two studies will be presented in the webinar.
